Chemical peels work by providing a chemical exfoliation which removes dead skin cells and stimulates the production of new skin cells. The peel targets the epidermis (upper most layer of the skin) and as new skin cells are brought to the surface, dramatic results can be seen with the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage.
Peels are suitable for most skin types and are considered one of the most effective treatments for a broad range of skin concerns such as acne congenstion, sun damamge, dullnes dehydration, pigmentation, acne scarring and fine lines.
Each session takes approximately half and hour. As the damaged layers of the skin are shed, it is common to feel some skin sensitivity, similiar to a mild sun burn. Mild skin peeling, flaking and redness can occur following a peel.
